| DSCW Spam Accounts |
I just thought I would update you kids on the spam account situation. If you remember several months ago (Maybe upto a year? I can't remember how long its been...) DSCW got flooded with spammers & bots, so we activated Administration Approval of all new accounts. After a while the flood of new account attempts started to decline, whether because the bots couldn't automatically sign in & start spamming or because of the IPs we banned, but we still do get them occasionally. In the last month we've had two new spambot accounts - which is a far cry from the ones we used to get - but they are still coming in. And while this step is extra work for the Admin staff, we would rather have to deal with this little bit every so often than have to go through and clean up dozens if not hundreds of comments, shoutbox posts, and forum posts.
"Ok, thats nice... so why the hell are you telling us?"
I would just like to assure people that we're not doing this to be spiteful, not doing it to be controlling, but to maintain a pleasent and spam/porn free website that people of all ages can enjoy. The only requirement we have when a DS player is registering an account is to use some brain cells, and A) Use your registered Darkspace username, and B) Don't make some goofy childish AIM inspired name like DumbBalls1234 or whatever the hell you have. The first clue when looking at a new account that its a spam account, is numbers at the end of the username. The third thing we ask is that you use a real and non-retarded email address. The same thing that applies to usernames applies to emails, if we see "goombah5569@hotmail.com" or something equally stupid then it is probably going to get rejected.
If for some reason your account gets flagged as a spam account in error, please send me a Private Message on the Darkspace forums, or if you see me or any of the DSCW Admins in the DS Lobby try to get our attention. I can't speak for the others but I'm often AFK & will miss most /sends and /whispers, just so you're warned.
Again, we appologise for any inconvience this causes, but it is essential for a pleasent and PG-13 environment that we here at DSCW and the DS RoC both require. |

This clever guy has slitted purple eyes that are like two windows on the evening sky. His thick, straight, brown hair is very short and is worn in a bizarre style. He is very tall and has an angular build. His skin is cream-colored. He has a domed forehead. His wardrobe is utilitarian and businesslike, with a mostly green color scheme.
This clever guy is Sardaukar, and for all these qualities (and a few more besides..) he's our newest moderator. |

This blog is a collaboration between the official developers and DSCW, and will house news, updates, progress reports, and various articles of interest to the community regarding the ongoing DarkSpace development process.

 Hey, uh, this is your ever loving and omnipotent higher being here. I was kinda tipsy last night when I was playing shig in a game of strip chess, and I may have made a few off the cuff remarks. I really don't know when the Rapture is coming, and I'm not going to raise Taxes. Seriously, I didn't mean anything I said, especially the remark about giving The Church of Scientology a holy relic. This whole idea about stoping a biological function in your body is all poppycock, if I wanted to ween you guys off Osmosis I would have gotten rid of the water a while ago, ;ike how I did with the Photosynthesis.
In any case, happy praying and always remember to practice your religion. I'm going to go annoy the Easter Bunny for a while because he never leaves me chocolate, saying I should just "Create some out of nothing being god and everything".

 Hey all. I was talking to God yesterday and he was thinking that we have too many natural and/or scientific processes in the universe. Thus, he was curious what we, as his Chosen group of gamers (DS is, I think, purgatory, though I couldn't get a clear answer on that out of Him), thought of a few key processes. Have a look, and vote for your favorite. After a few days or so, he'll take the least popular and abolish it entirely. So choose wisely. Luckily, though, its not like any of them are that important.
