War

Today reveals the 70th anniversary of World War II.  Leaders of the world over have gone to Poland to pay their respects to the people that died to the act that started the second largest war we've seen as a race.  An act that annihilated 20% of the countries population.

You'd have thought that 60 years on we would have learnt our mistakes about wars, and fighting.  And whereas the first and second World War's were caused by countries wants for power (domination), the ones we wage now are not all dissimilar.

I'm hoping that the lives thrown down 60+ years ago for the world we live in now aren't thrown away for a different drive for power (resources).

How many more lives need be sacrificed on our way to being a Type 1 civilisation?

I hope it's not many.
